Choosing Your Blend

Not sure what mix of propylene glycol to vegetable glycerine to get? Not sure what nicotine strength to get? This guide is for you.

Nicotine

Nicotine both satisfies the craving for stimulants that smokers seek and provides the “throat hit” or sharp feeling in the back of the throat that smokers of cigarettes will be used to.
Nicotine has a peppery taste in higher concentrations which can conflict with or effect flavour.

0mg/ml (NIL) For non smokers
3mg/ml (0.3%) Just a touch of nicotine for occasional smokers or users of devices that deliver very large quantities of vapor per draw
6mg/ml (0.6%) For light cigarette smokers or users of devices that deliver large quantifies of vapor per draw
12mg/ml (1.2%) For heavy smokers of light cigarettes or light smokers of full strength cigarettes or users of devices that deliver normal quantities of vapor per draw
18mg/ml (1.8%) For smokers of full strength cigarettes and users of devices that deliver modest quantities of vapor per draw
24mg/ml (2.4%) Extra strong for very heavy smokers of full strength cigarettes (>pack per day)

Propylene glycol : Vegetable glycerine ratio (PG:VG ratio)

Propylene glycol (PG) carries flavouring more effectively than vegetable glycerine (VG). Vegetable glycerine (VG) is the source of the vapor that you can see and feel when exhaling (and increases the sweetness of the taste of e-Liquid). Propylene glycol (PG) is also less viscous (more runny) than vegetable glycerine (VG). Higher propylene glycol (PG) mixes will be more easily drawn up by wicks than high vegetable glycerine (VG) ones.

PG = Propylene glycol
VG = Vegetable glycerine
DW = Distilled water

65% PG : 35% VG For lovers of high flavour over vapor production

Suitable for most devices

50% PG : 50% VG Most common blend. Gives a decent flavour carrying potential vs decent vapor production

Suitable for most devices

35% PG : 65% VG For lovers of high vapor at the cost of a slight reduction in flavour carrying potential and with a slight sweetening effect on flavour from the sweetness of vegetable glycerine

More suitable for bottom coil devices (where the coil is submerged in the e-Liquid rather than drawing it up a wick) or dripping devices

Max VG
90% VG : 10% DW
For those seeking maximum vapor production

More suitable for bottom coil devices (where the coil is submerged in the e-Liquid rather than drawing it up a wick) or dripping devices

*All mixes include propylene glycol as a flavour carrier.

Menthol

Menthol (as in menthol cigarettes) is a concentrated oil derived from peppermint. It adds a cool, fresh sensation and taste to e-Liquid that especially compliments tobacco and mint flavourings.
