The construction of the Moth Light Rig

Page 4 -- The Light

1

Find your 48" worklight.

2

Remove the Lens or Bulb cover. Discard it - it alters the wavelength of your bulbs and is not needed.

3

Place a large rubber band onto each end of the light fixture. These are security devices to keep your bulbs from falling out when adjusting them.

4

You should see two slots on the top for the attachment of a hanging apparatus.

5

Lay the light next to the 5' top section. Center the light fixture on the length of the crossbar.

6

Mark with pencil/marker onto the crossbar the approximate location location of the two slots on the top of the light fixture.

7

Using a drill and a small bore bit, carefully drill two small holes throgh both sides of the crossbar.

8

Thread a looped string through the holes.

9

Secure the string so that it cannot be removed. I used a cuople of lengths of clear packing tape or duct tape.

10

Insert the loops into the slots and carefully lift the crossbar.

11

The light should now be correctly positioned about 1 inch below the level of the crossbar. Adjust strings to ensure that the light is level.
