The Mourning Cloak

How:This butterfly was one of many seen on the entire trip. We could not catch a one of these but did manage to pick up three dead car struck specimens alongside a road in Mescalero, NM. There was a roadside creek with a patch of thistle flowers 30 feet across and 1 mile long! The best place for butterflies on the entire trip!!!!
