City: Cold Spring , Texas

County: Montgomery

How: Attracted to 350 nm Blacklight Fluorescent lights.

When: May 2003

Comments: Beautiful moth - the orange patches on the hindwings indicates that this is a male specimen. This is a strong flying moth that behaves very much like a Sphinx in flight. They frequently fly near to the lights and then bumble and buzz about on the ground.
